A number of factors can speed up the ageing process:
- Pollution and the environment, dirt and grime clogging pores.
- Smoking is very harmful to skin.
- Poor diet and excessive alcohol consumption.
- Stress and lack of sleep.
- Skin care neglect.
- Stop smoking.
- Wear sunscreen of SPF 15 or above daily.
- Have a sensible well balanced diet.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Have sufficient sleep.
- Adopt a regular exercise routine.
Cleanse in the morning to remove surface oil and dead skin cells then repeat in the evening to remove makeup and pollutants that your skin has been exposed to during the day.
Moisturise in the morning with a day moisturiser to hydrate and protect your skin (many contain SPF protection) and in the evening apply a richer night cream.
Exfoliate the skin to remove accumulated dead skin cells using gentle stroking rather than scrubbing once or twice a week as required to radiate the skin, unclog pores and smoothen the complexion. Moisturising products will be more effective with regular exfoliation.
